    1. Visual inspection: Before resorting to electronic tools, a visual inspection can be a good starting point. Look for any visible indicators like wall plates, cable access points, or any visible cable runs on the outside of the wall.
    2. Stud finders: Stud finders equipped with cable detection capabilities can be helpful in identifying hidden cables. This method relies on detecting changes in density behind the wall, indicating the presence of a cable.
    3. Specialized cable detectors: Some advanced cable detectors utilize sophisticated technology such as radio frequency detection or thermal imaging to locate hidden cables. These tools can penetrate walls and provide more accurate results.

    While a tone generator can be an effective tool for tracing and identifying cables, its use in locating hidden coaxial cables within walls has limitations. The shielding of coaxial cables, loss of signal strength, and interference from other cables or electrical systems can hinder the accurate detection of the tone generated by a tone generator. However, by utilizing alternative techniques such as visual inspection, stud finders, or specialized cable detectors, the chances of successfully locating hidden coaxial cables can be significantly improved.
